About the Project
To maximise the use of the Auckland Art Gallery website by expanding its functionality to support existing volunteers. By creating a centralised hub tailored to volunteers, the gallery can provide a seamless and efficient experience, fostering better communication, engagement, and satisfaction among its volunteer community.

Problem Statement
The Auckland Art Gallery’s website is primarily geared towards providing information to the general public and prospective volunteers. However, current volunteers lack a dedicated digital space to access resources, updates, and tools needed for their roles. This gap results in inefficiencies and scattered communication, making it harder for volunteers to fully engage and perform their duties effectively.

Brainstorms
Challenges
Grow is a volunteer sub-brand. Incorporating it into the Auckland Art Gallery website might be too complicated and confuse people.
Solutions
The enhanced volunteer portal is a one-stop solution integrated into the existing Auckland Art Gallery website. Key user flows include:
-
Logging in to the dashboard to see personalised updates and schedules.
-
Signing up for or swapping shifts using an intuitive calendar view.
-
Accessing Grow-specific resources and opportunities seamlessly through a dedicated section.

Learnings
The integration of a sub-brand page into the website avoids the need for creating a separate site by prominently displaying the sub-brand logo on all relevant pages, ensuring visibility and recognition. Although the sub-brand’s visual identity is distinct from the main brand, thoughtful design choices were made to include shared elements that maintain consistency and continuity across the website, allowing for a seamless user experience.

Learnings
Taking ownership of the project significantly improved both the client relationship and team dynamics. Embracing the mindset that this was our project motivated us to take the initiative and strive to make it the best it could be. This sense of ownership also boosted our confidence during presentations.
